The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department announces new art classes for kids in March at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill. We are a public organization, here to benefit the community. Anyone, including out-of-county residents, can register for and participate in our classes – even if you don’t have a facility pass! So what are you waiting for? Sign up today for that class you have been thinking about taking.
 
EASTER BASKETS
In this class children ages 3 and up will make their own Easter basket! The charming little basket is a perfect craft for little egg hunters to use at our egg hunt on April 4th. Participants will use poster board, scissors and paper fasteners to construct a simple basket and then personalize it using lace stickers, sequins, markers and other springtime embellishments. Don’t miss the fun! Space is limited. Please register by March 25th. The class will meet on Friday, March 27th from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. OR Thursday, April 2nd from10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. OR 6:15 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The class fee is $3, and the instructor is Julie Westall. SPRING BREAK CROCHET CAMP
Are you looking for fun activities for your children during Spring Break? Children ages 8 and up can stay busy learning to crochet Easter egg decorations and bunny egg covers for their Easter baskets. Kids will learn basic crochet stitches and then use those skills to crochet fun projects. A supply list will be provided at registration, and supplies will need to be brought to the first day of class. The camp will meet Monday – Wednesday April 6th -8th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The camp fee is $40 for 3 days. The instructor is Twila Dry.
