- A Sunday matinee performance has been added for the Music of John Williams with the Nashville Symphony on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 3 p.m. Part of the FirstBank Pops Series, this concert celebrates America’s greatest film composer with music from Superman, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and more. Now available for season ticket holders, donors of $500 or more and groups of 12 or more, tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 20. Learn more here. - The Nashville Symphony’s annual Community Concerts series gets under way this June with performances at six local parks. Featuring works by Bernstein, Brahms, Rossini, Rimsky-Korsakov and more, each concert is offered free of charge. Dates, times and locations are as follows:

- Violins of Hope Nashville continues through May with a variety of events, including exhibits, concerts, readings and more — many offered free of charge. Owned by Jewish musicians during the Holocaust, these historic instruments remain on view at the Main Public Library through May 27. Several will be used in chamber music performances throughout the month of May, and the collection will be highlighted in the Nashville Symphony & Chorus’ performances of Verdi’s Requiem on May 31-June 2. The Nashville Symphony has released 28 recordings on Naxos, which have received 24 GRAMMY® nominations and 13 GRAMMY® Awards, making it one of the most active recording orchestras in the country. The orchestra has also released recordings on Decca, Deutsche Grammophon and New West Records, among other labels. With more than 140 performances annually, the orchestra offers a broad range of classical, pops and jazz, and children’s concerts, while its extensive education and community engagement programs reach 60,000 children and adults each year.
