Independence Trust Names Redden President, Bartlett Becomes CIO
Founded in 1997 with a single account, Independence Trust has grown to become one of only a handful of nationally chartered independent trust companies in America. Now, the firm’s Board of Directors has named two longtime key staff members, Greer Redden and Marshall Bartlett, to lead the company as founder Marcia Williams remains in the role of Board chair. Redden is now the company’s President, and Bartlett is Chief Investment Officer.
“This transition has been carefully planned over a period of years, and we were very fortunate to have both Greer and Marshall to assume full responsibility for day-to-day operations,” said Independence Trust Board Member Ernie Bacon. “Marcia will remain chair of our Board of Directors, but she will now focus the bulk of her time and talents on her volunteer work with the Heifer Foundation and Wilderness Watch, and on enjoying travels with her husband, Dr. Jerome Walker.”
As part of the transition, Redden and Bartlett have also joined the company’s Board of Directors and will be leading Independence Trust into the future. Based in historic downtown Franklin, the company provides financial services to individuals, families and institutions, with highly personalized trust and investment management as a hallmark.
