Hybrid Electric Trolley Offers New Route
This summer marks the beginning of a new Trolley service for Franklin. If you haven’t had a chance to ride this route, you are missing out!
The system’s Historic Heritage Trolley Route, a six-month pilot program, runs on Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. A special date specific trolley pass will allow for multiple on and off same day boarding on the trolley, at a cost of $5.
“With more folks enjoying vacations at home this year, the new Historic Heritage Trolley Route provides an affordable, charming and environmentally-friendly was to see the sights throughout Franklin, aboard our efficient hybrid trolley,” states Debbie Henry, executive director of The TMA Group.”
The energy efficient Hybrid Electric Trolley will run a continual loop every hour. An example of the route is as follows: 10:00 Embassy Suites, 10:05 Marriott Cool Springs, 10:15 The Factory at Franklin, 10:20 Downtown Franklin, 10:22 The Carter House,10:30 Carnton Plantation, with return trips at: 10:45 The Carter House, 10:48 Downtown Franklin, 10:50 The Factory at Franklin, 11:00 Embassy Suites.
“The new Historic Heritage Trolley Route offers visitors an opportunity to explore Downtown Franklin, Carnton Plantation and the Carter House and it will be a fun service for local residents, too,” states Nancy Williams, Director of Downtown Franklin Association.
“Downtown Franklin and the historic sites have hoped for this route since the trolley’s inception and it’s great to see it starting in time for our busy tourist season.”
