Haunted Trails of Horror

UPDATE:
HAUNTED TRAILS OF HORROR MEETS AN UNTIMELY END

Due to poor weather conditions, the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department has been forced to cancel the 2007 Haunted Trails of Horror.  Scheduled to have been held this Wednesday and Thursday evening(s), October 24th and 25th, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex, this yearly haunted hayride has been called off for the overall health and safety of our patrons, volunteers and staff.  “Even though a lot of hard work and effort has gone into planning and scheduling this year’s Haunted Trails, we just could not risk the safety of our staff, volunteers and most importantly all of the families that come out for this event.  It was a hard call, but due to the weather patterns and projections over the next few days, we felt it was in the best interest of everyone to cancel this year.” says Doug Hood, Director of the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department.  2007 would have been the 15th year for this family friendly, Halloween classic, but continuous rain has made set-up of the hayride course difficult; and weather concerns where the final “nail in the coffin”, so to speak.

The staff of Williamson County Parks and Recreation looks forward to bringing this special event “back to life” next year, and for more information on our other Halloween activities, please visit our website at www.wcparksandrec.com.
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s infamous “Haunted Trails of Horror” is back and better than ever!

The haunting starts at 6:30 p.m., for those who dare to join us, at the Franklin Recreation Complex on Wednesday, Oct. 25 and Thursday, Oct. 26, with an untimely ending each night at 9:00 p.m.

Eerie sounds from the Halloween DJ entice the brave souls who board the haunted hayrides to travel safely through the trails and along the Harpeth River, complete with kooky characters, (brought to life by the Franklin High School Drama Group) a handful of spooks and of course, some scary moments.

Cost is $4 per person with no charge for children under the age of 3.
Refreshments are available on site for an additional fee.

For more information, call the Franklin Recreation Complex at 790-5719, ext. 10.
The Complex is located at 1120 Hillsboro Road in Franklin.
