Big changes on tap at A Vintage Affair

The glass has been passed and a new face is at the helm of A Vintage Affair.

After 10 years with AVA, seven as executive director and 10 with the board,  Ashley Roberts has passed the torch to Jessica Moen. Roberts is looking forward to “new creative challenges” and to “see what else is out there to challenge” her.

“In order for [A Vintage Affair] to continue to flourish, it was time for a change,” Roberts said.

She will remain on the organization’s advisory board.

A former Texas A&M pre-med student, Moen learned she had a bigger heart for helping women and children than she did for medicine. Her eyes were opened to the plight of women and children during a trip to Spain in her junior year.

“I saw a different side of life in Spain,” Moen said. “People from many countries take refuge in Spain because of their social health care. They bring with them disease and turmoil with the clash of cultures.”
