Andy Marshall Wins Republican Primary for Williamson County Mayor
Republican primary voters in Williamson County selected Andy Marshall as the party’s nominee for county mayor in Tuesday’s primary election.
Marshall defeated County Commissioner Mary Smith with 12,864 votes to Smith’s 10,787, according to unofficial results. The race marks the first transition in county leadership in more than two decades, as longtime Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson prepares to retire after 24 years in office.
Marshall is best known locally as the founder and CEO of A. Marshall Hospitality, the Franklin-based hospitality company behind restaurants including Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant, Scout’s Pub, and Deacon’s New South. His company operates restaurants across Tennessee and Alabama and employs more than 550 people.
He has also been involved in several local organizations over the years, previously serving as president of the Downtown Franklin Association, serving on the board of The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, and as a founding board member of The Franklin Theatre.
Following the results, Smith congratulated Marshall and thanked supporters for their involvement throughout the campaign. She also encouraged continued community engagement and transparency in county government as Williamson County moves into a new chapter of leadership.
Marshall will next face Independent candidate Bhavani Kumar “BK” Muvvala in the general election.
