Nashville Symphony Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero Hosts Virtual Classical Conversation on Mahler’s Tenth Symphony Facebook Live discussion is part of Nashville Symphony’s campaign to stay connected with the community via online media 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 8.

Nashville Symphony Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero will host an interactive lecture and Q/A session on Gustav Mahler’s Tenth Symphony on the Symphony’s Facebook page at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8.

Modeled around the pre-concert lectures Guerrero delivers before all Symphony Classical Series performances, this free event will explore the history of the piece and the thought process behind its completion, along with musical clips and a demonstration of the challenge of conducting the Scherzo in the work’s second movement.

More free online lectures and demonstrations by Guerrero will be announced in the future, and the Nashville Symphony is also posting performances by its musicians on its social media platforms on an ongoing basis. These efforts are part of the organization’s commitment to staying connected to the community and delivering programming during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to regular postings on the Nashville Symphony’s Facebook, Instagram and YouTube accounts, the Nashville Symphony is regularly updating its website with new content:
