ONGOING ACTIVITIES AND CLASSES OFFERED AT THE FAIRVIEW RECREATION COMPLEX

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department offers ongoing classes and activities for children and adults at the Fairview Recreation Complex. All classes are open to the public. Registration and more information is available at www.wcparksandrec.com.

 

Teen/Adult Pottery

Join the fun in a weekly pottery class at the Fairview Recreation Complex every Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Instructor June Lusty teaches hand built and thrown techniques. Each class is $12, plus a $25 supply fee every 6 weeks. For ages 13 through adults. Class meets weekly at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd.  Drop-ins are welcome. Tae Kwon-Do

Learn the martial art of Tae Kwon-Do and gain the benefit of learning the techniques and ways of self-defense, which can generate higher self-esteem and confidence. Eddie Manor is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and has over 37 years of experience with the art of Tae Kwon-Do. Ongoing classes meet weekly at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $60 a month. For ages 6+. Tai Chi

Tap into your body’s energy, reduce your daily stress and feel energized! Tai Chi Ch’uan uses smooth, continuous movements to help you unwind while improving your balance, posture and strength. Classes are offered at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd. on Tuesdays from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. For ages 13+. Cost is $10 per class. To register, go to www.wcparksandrec.com. Open Pickleball

If you are looking for a new way to be more active, try Pickleball, a relatively new game popular with many adults. Pickleball is a cross between badminton, tennis and table tennis and is lots of fun! Open Pickleball (indoor) is offered at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd. on Mondays from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For information about clinics and the use of the Pickleball courts, visit www.wcparksandrec.com.

 

Skate Night

Enjoy skating in the gymnasium at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd. one Friday night each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Upcoming date is July 19. All ages are welcome. Participants must bring their own skates. No reservations are required. Admission is $5 per person, or receive $1 off both admissions when you bring a friend. Fitness and Wellness

Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) offers a wide variety of fitness classes at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd. With ongoing, weekly classes, plus personal trainers and health coaches on staff; WCPR makes it easy for you reach your goals with classes like Yoga, Zumba, indoor cycling, Iron Bodies, and Cardio Circuit.
