Meow Manor
A new free roaming cat room called Meow Manor is coming to Williamson County Animal Center in Franklin! To make room for the lobby construction project and encourage adoptions, the shelter is waiving the adoption fee for all pets on August 21 and 22. There are currently 102 cats and kittens and 36 dogs and puppies looking for forever homes.
Shelter director Laura Chavarria said that the addition of Meow Manor to the facility will allow cats a more spacious, social atmosphere to live in and make them more attractive to adopters. “A free roaming cat room is a dream that I have had for many months, and we are excited that construction will start in late August.” Chavarria added, “We hope the two no-fee adoption days August 21 and 22 will free up some needed space for our Meow Manor project. When fees are waived,” said Chavarria, “we still use the same screening process for all adopters. This insures we place all our animals in forever, loving homes.” All adoptions include vaccinations, spay or neuter and microchip. A refundable deposit may be required on pets too young for spay/neuter surgery, and unsterilized animals may only be adopted by Williamson County residents.
The Williamson County Animal Control and Adoption Center is located at 106 Claude Yates Dr. in Franklin. The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Adoptable animals can be viewed at www. adoptwcac.org.
