Blue Christmas
The Solid Waste Department is responsible for the collection and disposal of all residential, commercial, yard and bulk waste within Franklin city limits to ensure the health, welfare, safety and sanitation of our community. Our mission is to provide the citizens of Franklin effective and efficient solid waste service in an environmentally and economically responsible manner.
Divisions
There are three divisions within the Solid Waste Department:
- Collection Division This division is responsible for collection of solid waste, bulk items, brush and dumpsters from the residential and commercial customers within the city limits of Franklin.
- Recycling Division This division is responsible for the Blue Bag RecyclingProgram which services residential customers within the city limits of Franklin. The Recycling Division does Not accept glass, Styrofoam or non- recyclable household waste.
- Disposal Division This division is responsible for transporting waste to an approved landfill. The waste is brought into our facility by our city refuse trucks and also private haulers. The brush that is collected is ground and used by the City of Franklin Parks Department in area parks and the balance is taken to the county landfill where it is used in their process at no charge to the city.
