WCPR Continues Lifeguard Training Courses

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department’s Aquatics Division continues its annual lifeguard certification training courses. Swimmers age 15 and older are invited to choose class sessions where, upon passing the pre-course swim test, they will be educated in the skills necessary to become a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard within the 2008 guidelines.
Session 2: “Spring Break”
Class Location: Indoor Sports Complex
Date: Saturday, March 15 to Saturday, March 22.
Classes held every day from Saturday to Saturday (except Sunday 3/16)
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $100 (due the first day of class) includes manual, pocket mask and other fees
Registration Begins: Saturday, March 1 at 12 Noon
Registration Requirements: You must register in person at the Indoor Sports Complex.
Session 3: “Last Chance Class”
Class Locations: Longview Elementary School & Indoor Sports Complex
Date: Saturday, March 22 to Saturday, April 19.
Classes held on Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays
Time: Mondays and Wednesdays 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Longview Elementary School & the Indoor Sports Complex; Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Indoor Sports Complex
Cost: $100 (due the first day of class) includes manual, pocket mask and other fees
Registration Begins: Saturday, March 8 at 12 Noon
Registration Requirements: You must register in person at the Indoor Sports Complex.
CPR Challenge
Open to those previously certified in CPR who are seeking renewal.
Class Location: Indoor Sports Complex
Date: Monday, May 5
Time: 5 p.m.
Cost: $25
Registration Begins: Saturday, April 26 at 12 Noon
Registration Requirements: You must register in person at the Indoor Sports Complex.
Lifeguard Challenge
Open to those previously certified lifeguards who are seeking renewal.
Class Location: Indoor Sports Complex
Date: Wednesday, May 7
Time: 5 p.m.
Cost: $25
Registration Begins: Saturday, April 26 at 12 Noon
Registration Requirements: You must register in person at the Indoor Sports Complex.
Please note: To challenge out of either the “CPR Challenge” or the “Lifeguard Challenge” classes participants must be familiar with all updated course material. This is not a class review, it is a pass/fail challenge. Participants who fail the challenge will be required to complete a full course class.
