Downtown Festivities Begin at 10:00 a.m., Park opens at 5:00 p.m., Fireworks to begin about 9:00 p.m.

Franklin— Thousands are expected to attend the popular Franklin on the Fourth celebration on the square happening Friday, July 4th in Franklin and sponsored by the Franklin Lions Club. Festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. with music, food and craft vendors, vintage cars and much more.  The event will also feature a Patriotic Pet Parade at 10:30 a.m. and a Children’s Patriotic Parade at 5:00 p.m, Line-up for the children’s parade begins at 4:45 p.m.  To register go to the Lions Club Booth on the square at the event.  There will be prizes for best costume and decorated bikes and wagons. The Park at Harlinsdale Farm is the prime spot for viewing the fireworks show.  The show is sponsored by the City of Franklin and WAKM AM-950. The show will be enhanced this year in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. The show will be 10 minutes longer and will feature larger dynamic shells throughout the display.

Friends of Franklin Parks is hosting the community in the Tractor Supply Co. Arena featuring music by Hippies and Cowboys, a powerhouse rock ‘n’ soul band out of Nashville starting at 7:00 p.m. The celebration begins with students from School of Rock Franklin, who will take the stage from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a high-energy lineup of rock favorites sure to get the crowd ready for an exciting evening at the park. There will also be family games and food trucks andnon-alcoholic beverages. Food vendors include Aces Kettle Corn, Brickhouse BBQ, Buffalo Texas Sausage, Chills on Wheels, Fluffed up TN, Haole Boys Teriyaki, Momma Joy’s Hot Chicken, Mikey’s Pizza, Mini Melts, Mojo’s Tacos, Moosic City Ice Cream, Padrino’s Pops, Puckett’s, The Pink Sugar Funnel Cakery, and Wild Bills Old Fashioned Soda Pop.

Sponsors working with Friends of Franklin Parks to bring a free and fun family event include Jackson Financial Inc. as the Presenting Sponsor. Other sponsors include Stage Sponsor TruGreen; Banner Sponsor FirstBank; and Sparkler Sponsors Berry Farms – A Boyle Development, City of Franklin Parks and Recreation Department, Medical House Calls, and 107.5 The River.  Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets to view the show and refillable water bottles for water. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., and the fireworks are expected to begin at approximately 9:00 p.m.

No outside alcohol is permitted in City parks. Beer and wine will be available for purchase on-site for guests 21 and older. A valid, government-issued photo ID must be presented at the time of purchase and remain with the guest while consuming alcoholic beverages. Proceeds from beverage sales support Friends of Franklin Parks and its mission to preserve, enhance, and expand Franklin’s parks, trails, and open spaces.

Fireworks and sparklers are illegal within Franklin city limits and are strictly prohibited in City parks. Due to dry summer conditions, even small sparks or open flames can quickly ignite a fire and pose a serious safety risk to park visitors and parkland.
