Vagabond Experiential Self-Pour Wine Bar to open in Nashville Late 2026
Founder Stephen Finch returns to Music City to open wine bar and restaurant featuring 100 self-pour wines and shareable plates in The Gulch
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vagabond, an experiential self-pour wine bar and restaurant, will make its debut in Nashville in late 2026, reinventing the way guests discover and enjoy wine. As the founder and creative force behind the UK’s popular and most awarded group of self-pour wine bars, Stephen Finch is recreating for the U.S. the original concept he started in London in 2010 and introducing a new iteration of Vagabond in Nashville’s Gulch neighborhood.
Driven by a mission to “make it fun and easy to discover new wines,” Vagabond’s self-pour model is designed for everyone from occasional wine drinkers to experienced oenophiles. Vagabond’s selection of 100 carefully curated, frequently rotating wines are intuitively grouped by style category, allowing guests to explore the world of wine by the sample, glass or bottle. Finch removed the barrier to tasting through a self-pour model he pioneered sixteen years ago in London and refined for Nashville, enabling guests to experience iconic wines and discover quirky gems at a range of price points. A passionate, knowledgeable and easygoing team will be on hand for those wanting guidance.
“I created Vagabond as a wine bar for the rest of us, everyone who likes wine but doesn’t necessarily know much about it,” said Stephen Finch, founder and creative force behind the brand. “My goal is to strip away the needless snobbery and impenetrable complexity of traditional wine culture and instead allow guests to experience and explore wine on their own terms in a uniquely experiential way. We want guests to feel confident trying new wines, discovering why they like what they like while enjoying a one-of-a-kind experience whether it’s a night out with friends, date night, group outings, happy hour or anything in between.”
A Vanderbilt University graduate with longtime ties to the area, Finch selected Nashville as Vagabond’s U.S. debut market because of his personal connection to the city as well as the growing food and beverage scene. Finch continued, “Nashville has always been such a special and foundational part of my life, and I am proud to be recreating the Vagabond brand here for my family and friends and to give them, as well as the rest of Music City, a place to explore wine freely and joyfully. The energy in Nashville today rivals that of some of the biggest and most dynamic cities in the world I’ve lived in, and I am excited for Vagabond to help grow the city’s reputation as a food and drinks mecca of the South.”
In addition to the wine program, Vagabond will offer a food menu centered around seasonal small plates and shareable dishes inspired by wine-producing regions around the world. The beverage program will also include a full-service bar with an emphasis on Tennessee-made whiskeys and a self-pour beer wall showcasing local and regional craft beers.
Finch is working with Nashville-based Remick for architecture and design. Located at 1000 Division Street in The Gulch, the 2,800-square-foot wine bar and restaurant will be designed as a social space where guests can sample different wines while gathering with friends. Finch and his team designed and built the next level wine, whiskey and beer dispensing systems that will debut at Vagabond’s Gulch location, doing away with cumbersome “top-up” cards in favor of contactless payments. A proprietary app will support reservations, personalized wine recommendations and an eventual loyalty program.
