Franklin, Tennessee – The Williamson County Master Gardeners Association (WCMGA) is excited to announce the annual Spring Garden Festival and Plant Sale, a must- attend event for garden lovers and the entire community. Join us on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM on the west side of the grounds of Williamson County Ag Expo Park, located at 4215 Long Lane, Franklin, TN 37064, rain or shine.

The event is FREE and fun for all ages!

This year’s festival promises something for everyone, including:

  • Beautiful perennials, annuals, vegetables, and herbs, many grown by skilled Master Gardeners.
  • A Garden Shed area with new and gently used treasures for your home and garden.
  • An Arts and Crafts area showcasing unique creations from our WCMGAmembers and interns, plus face painting for kids.
  • A dedicated Children’s Area featuring storytelling, face painting, and hands‑on educational activities designed to spark curiosity and garden‑themed fun.
  • Discover expert gardening advice from the University of Tennessee Plant Diagnostics team.
  • Explore a wonderful assortment of nursery, crafts, and specialty vendors, and savor mouthwatering food from local food trucks.

The Spring Garden Festival and Plant Sale is more than just a fun day out; it is a major fundraiser supporting WCMGA’s mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Through research-based horticultural education and environmental stewardship, WCMGA continues to enrich the community with impactful projects and volunteerism.

WCMGA Projects at a Glance:

  • The Giving Garden: A five-acre garden distributing fresh produce to those in need.
  • Carter House: A restored historical site featuring vegetables and plants cultivated during the 19th-century, an authentic period orchard, and an Osage-Orange hedge, maintained for education and community service.
  • Carnton: Historic period gardens at Carnton, lovingly maintained by WCMGA volunteers to preserve this site’s legacy and provide horticulture education.
  • Carnton Period Enslaved Garden: A recreated 19th-century food-source garden honoring the labor and resilience of enslaved individuals.
  • Junior Gardener Camp: A week-long educational day camp for children aged 6–12, inspiring a love of gardening and nature, made possible by WCMGA volunteers.
  • Young Scholars Institute: Interactive horticulture classes for motivated youth aged 7–14, with many volunteer hours invested in teaching creative lessons like “Superhero Insects.”
  • McLemore House: Landscape restoration and maintenance of this African American historical landmark, contributing to cultural and historical preservation.
  • The Perennial: A quarterly online publication filled with articles, updates, and photos, created to educate and engage our members and the public.
  • WCMGA Speakers Bureau: Engaging WCMGA speakers to deliver talks on a wide range of gardening topics at local libraries, garden clubs, neighborhood associations, and community groups, enriching the public’s understanding of horticulture.
  • UT Diagnostics Team: A dedicated team providing phone and onsite support to homeowners and gardeners, helping identify pests, diseases, and plants while recommending suitable options for middle Tennessee landscapes.
