Daniel Klatt Art Exhibit Opens at Gary R. Haynes Gallery in the Historic Hayes House
Daniel Klatt Artwork: Ropers Knob
Franklin, TN – Friends of Franklin Parks invites the community to experience the artwork of Daniel Klatt, a longtime Franklin resident, artist, and civic leader whose work captures the spirit, landscapes, and character of Franklin’s beloved parks.
Klatt’s journey to Franklin began in the 1970s through a career in design and visual arts that brought him from Colorado to Nashville. His professional life has spanned graphic design, branding, advertising, and creative leadership, including founding and leading successful design firms that served regional and national clients. Throughout his career, he helped shape the visual identity of organizations across the region while remaining deeply rooted in the Franklin community.
Beyond his creative work, Klatt served the City of Franklin as Fourth Ward Alderman for eight years, first elected in 2001 and reelected in 2005. During his tenure, he played a meaningful role in major civic initiatives, infrastructure planning, and long-term community development. He was instrumental in projects connected to Mack Hatcher Parkway, led the redesign of the City of Franklin seal, and donated large cast versions of the seal as a lasting civic gift. Most notably, Klatt voted in support of the purchase and preservation of The Park at Harlinsdale Farm, helping transform it into one of Franklin’s most treasured public spaces.

Now in retirement, Klatt has returned fully to creating fine art, producing landscapes, portraits, mixed media, and abstract works that reflect both his travels and his enduring connection to Franklin.
