Dickens of a Christmas: Sunday Canceled Due to Cold; Saturday Runs 10 am to 6 pm

The 40th annual Dickens of a Christmas in downtown Franklin has canceled all Sunday festivities due to extreme cold weather. Forecasts call for Sunday highs in the mid-20s, with wind chills near zero, creating safety and operational concerns for guests, vendors, and staff.

According to the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, Saturday’s event will proceed as planned from 10 am to 6 pm, with full programming still scheduled. The Heritage Foundation will be implementing cold-weather mitigations on Saturday, including additional warming stations and access to indoor warming spaces, and encourages guests to dress warmly.

Sunday events will not be rescheduled. Some Landmark Booksellers author signings originally planned for Sunday have been moved to Saturday or relocated indoors.

Organizers encourage those who planned to attend on Sunday to visit on Saturday instead, noting that strong Saturday attendance helps support vendors, performers, and partners who have prepared for the weekend.
