Franklin Golf Lab Opens in Cool Springs: Indoor Golf Lessons and 24/7 Training

Franklin’s golf scene expanded this November with the grand opening of Franklin Golf Lab, a new indoor golf performance center founded by PGA Associate Daniel Booker. The facility introduces a high-tech, year-round approach to training that combines advanced analytics with personalized coaching to help golfers at every level improve their game.

Located on Aspen Grove Drive in the Cool Springs area of Franklin, Franklin Golf Lab is for golfers who want a focused environment to practice, learn, and measure progress. The facility features TrackMan simulators, PuttView holographic putting greens, and private coaching bays with 24/7 member access.

Booker said the idea grew from both his experience and his connection to the area. “I’ve lived in Franklin for more than a decade, and I wanted to create something that really fits this community,” Booker said. “This isn’t just a place to hit balls, it’s a local spot where people can train, learn, and connect through the game.”

Daniel Booker’s Golf Journey

Booker’s vision for Franklin Golf Lab is rooted in a lifetime spent around the game. He grew up playing competitive junior golf across Tennessee, eventually earning a scholarship to Belmont University, where he competed for four years before moving straight into coaching. His early career included time with the Tennessee Golf Foundation and a return to Belmont as an assistant coach.

Teaching and player development have been at the center of his work for more than a decade, which made opening a dedicated performance center feel like a natural next step. Franklin Golf Lab reflects his belief that golfers improve best in an environment built for learning, consistency, and connection.

“I’ve been teaching and coaching for over a decade,” Booker explained. “This felt like the right time to take everything I’ve learned and create a space that’s focused purely on performance and improvement.”

High-Tech Training for Every Golfer

Drawing on his background as both a coach and player, Booker designed Franklin Golf Lab to function as a true performance environment. His goal was to create a space where golfers could train with purpose, rely on accurate data, and see measurable progress over time.

The result is a modern indoor facility equipped with the tools players need to understand their swing, sharpen their skills, and build confidence in every part of their game. The layout includes private hitting bays, advanced swing-analysis systems, and a holographic putting green powered by PuttView technology, which projects slopes, contours, and alignment guides directly onto the surface.

“You can see exactly where the putt breaks and how much it slopes,” Booker explained. “Then you can remove the visuals and test your read and feel. It gives players a way to connect what they see, what they feel, and what the data confirms.”

Franklin Golf Lab’s simulators run on the TrackMan 4 system, considered an industry standard for accuracy. “It tracks everything: club path, face angle, swing speed, ball speed, spin, launch angle, over 30 metrics,” Booker said. Golfers can play virtual versions of real courses, including Hillwood Country Club in Nashville, and complete a full 18-hole round in about an hour. Skill challenges and games add another layer of practice and make the technology engaging for players of all ages.

Booker sees this data-driven feedback as a breakthrough for improvement. “When I show a student they’re eight degrees over the top, and after one adjustment they’re down to three, they see that change instantly,” he explained. “It clicks. That’s the power of immediate feedback.”

The Coaching Philosophy Behind Franklin Golf Lab

Booker’s teaching philosophy is personal, adaptive, and rooted in clear communication. “I take the most complex understanding of the swing and communicate it in the simplest, most efficient way possible,” he said. “Every golfer’s different, so lessons should be too.”

He sees coaching as a long-term process rather than a series of quick fixes. Each lesson is tailored to the player’s learning style, skill level, and goals, whether that means foundational swing mechanics, course strategy, or building confidence through consistent practice. “Whether you’re brand new or have been playing for 40 years, this is a place to get better,” he said. “There’s no judgment here.”

Booker works with juniors, beginners, and experienced players alike, offering private coaching, on-course strategy sessions in the simulators, and development pathways for younger golfers. Lessons incorporate video swing analysis, launch monitor data, and clear, actionable steps designed to help each student understand exactly what to work on.

He especially enjoys helping new golfers feel comfortable. “You don’t have to be good to start,” he added with a smile. “You just have to show up.”

A Different Kind of Indoor Golf in Franklin

Unlike many indoor golf spots that focus on entertainment with food, drinks, and social play, Franklin Golf Lab is centered on development. “A lot of simulator spots are boozy, hangout-type places,” Booker said. “There’s nothing wrong with that, but my background is in teaching and coaching. I wanted a true performance center.”

Members can bring their own refreshments if they choose, but the atmosphere is all about progress. “Our vibe is: come in, work on your game, and get better,” Booker said. “We wanted to offer the best technology for full swing and putting, combined

That training-first approach comes with a strong sense of community. For Booker, naming the business Franklin Golf Lab was intentional. “This is Franklin’s spot, a community hub for people who love golf,” he said. “Whether you’re a four-year-old learning to swing or a 45-year-old trying to win your club championship, we want you to have the best tools and the right atmosphere to get there.”

As the facility grows, Booker hopes to deepen those community connections. He plans to partner with area instructors, fitness professionals, and physical therapists to support members’ overall performance. “We’ll host events like a ‘Golf Powerhouse Day,’ where local coaches and rehab experts set up here to help members with tips, therapy, and training,” he said.

He also aims to collaborate with area programs, schools, and golf courses to strengthen the sport locally. “There are so many great golfers and families here,” he added. “We just want to give them a place to practice, rain or shine.”

Booker is already thinking about the next phase. “If we hit a home run here,” he said, “the next step is adding an indoor short-game area where you can chip, pitch, and even practice bunker shots.” He envisions a space that would round out the Lab’s offerings and give players everything they need, from putting to full swing to short game, under one roof.

Memberships and 24/7 Access

Franklin Golf Lab’s membership program is built for golfers who want steady access to reliable training space and advanced technology. Members can practice on their own schedule, work with a PGA professional, or simply use the facility as a consistent place to train without worrying about weather or availability.

Entry is managed through a secure digital system that allows golfers to come and go at any hour. Inside the facility, members have full use of the simulators and putting green. Coaching is available for those who want more guidance, and performance data helps track changes over time.

Booker emphasizes that the setup is simple and practical. “Technically, it’s a staffless facility,” he said. “But I’ll probably be here ten or eleven hours a day anyway.” Security was a priority during the buildout. “You can’t get in without being a member, and everything’s monitored,” he said.

For many Franklin residents, the ability to practice whenever time allows is the biggest benefit. Whether someone wants to rebuild a swing, focus on consistency, or just enjoy more practice time, the membership structure makes that possible. “It doesn’t matter if you’re brand new or a tour player,” Booker said. “Everyone in these walls is chasing the same goal.”

Why Indoor Golf Works in Middle Tennessee

Despite Tennessee’s reputation for mild weather, Booker notes that truly ideal golf days are rarer than people think. “When you really think about it, winter gets cold, summer gets hot, spring and fall get rainy, and then there’s the wind,” he said. “You probably get 70 to 100 truly perfect days a year. That leaves 265 days where an indoor option makes sense.”

Between heat waves, cold snaps, afternoon storms, and unpredictable wind, outdoor practice can be inconsistent for much of the year. For newcomers learning the basics or seasoned golfers trying to maintain progress, those interruptions add up. Indoor training provides a controlled environment where players can keep improving regardless of the forecast.

Franklin Golf Lab offers consistency with steady temperatures, reliable conditions, and high-end technology that mirrors real course play. Instead of waiting for the weather to cooperate, golfers can work on their swing, putting, or full rounds any day they choose. It’s a practical solution for Middle Tennessee golfers who want uninterrupted practice and measurable progress throughout the year.

Skill level doesn’t matter; we just want you to enjoy the game.”
