Scout’s Barbershop Coming to Franklin’s Canteen on Carothers This Fall
Scout’s Barbershop, a Nashville-based salon, is expanding in Franklin with a new shop opening this fall at Canteen on Carothers, a new development in the Cool Springs area. The 1,166-square-foot space will feature eight stylist chairs and join the brand’s existing location at 508 W. Main Street in downtown Franklin.
Owner Brooke Allison said Cool Springs had been on Scout’s expansion list for several years, and Canteen on Carothers offered the right combination of location, space, and surrounding businesses. The development is a mixed-use property with retail, dining, and office space, as well as outdoor areas designed for events and gatherings.
Founded in 2013, Scout’s became the first unisex, walk-in barbershop in Nashville and has grown steadily across Middle Tennessee with locations in East Nashville, Sylvan Park, The Gulch, Franklin, Germantown, Wedgewood-Houston, Donelson, and Chattanooga.
Scout’s Barbershop offers haircuts for kids, men, and women, along with services such as beard trims, straight-razor shaves, color treatments, bang trims, and facial waxing.
Scout’s locations are known for their hospitality, where guests are greeted by reception staff and can enjoy a complimentary local craft beer or sparkling water before their haircut. With interior designs that embrace the story and character of the buildings they inhabit, Scout’s locations are focused on creating a place where clients can connect with neighbors and feel part of the community.
Beyond its services, Scout’s is active in community outreach through its Haircuts for Humans initiative. Since its creation in 2016, the program has provided free haircuts to children, teens, and adults in need while collecting donations to benefit local education projects for young people living in poverty. The effort has supported organizations such as the Martha O’Bryan Center, Backfield in Motion, and others, while raising over $100,000 for community programs.
Once open, the Franklin shop will accept appointments via online booking or phone as well as walk-ins when available.
