Pull-Tight Players Present Winter Wonderettes: A Must-See Holiday Musical
Pull-Tight Players, Franklin’s community theatre now in its 56th season, is delighted to present the musical Winter Wonderettes as a Christmas treat for all ages. Filled with novel and entertaining arrangements to many of your favorite Christmas carols and songs, the show provides moments of sheer fun, nostalgia, and poignancy.
It opens with our four intrepid “Wonderettes” pulling out all the stops to put on an amateur Christmas show for the employees of Harper’s Hardware. As the action continues and we learn more about the wacky personalities and the ups and downs in the lives of these young ladies, we come to love Betty Jean, Missy, Cindy Lou, and Suzy. When a surprise at the end of Act One threatens to upend not only Christmas, but the lives of all of Harper’s employees, we wait in suspense to see who and what will be able to “save Christmas.”
According to co-producer Pat Street, “While the show centers around what is basically an ‘amateur hour,’ our production is anything but. We have been blessed with a cast of truly outstanding singer/actors, and combining their talents with the gorgeous holiday set, this is where you will want to be this year to hear all your Christmas favorites.”
The show is written and created by Roger Bean, with vocal arrangements by Roger Bean and Brian Baker and musical arrangements by Brian Baker. Presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing Global. Directed by Pull-Tight veteran Kyle Rybczyk. Starring Meghan Backes, Sydney Hooper, Abby Newman, Karina Saunderson.
