Del Webb Achieves Record Attendance and Home Sales at Grand Opening of New Active Adult Community in Metro Nashville
Nation’s leading builder of 55+ communities welcomed nearly 1,000 attendees at its Murfreesboro community inaugural event and ends weekend with 40houses sold
NASHVILLE, Tenn. [April 15,2024]—Del Webb, the nation’s leading builder of active adult communities for those 55 and older, this weekend celebrated the grand opening of its newest community, Del Webb Southern Harmony, with nearly 1,000 people in attendance coming from Washington, Nevada, Illinois, California, North Carolina, Florida, New York, Mississippi, Arizona, Kentucky, Georgia, New Mexico, Colorado, South Carolina, Texas, Indiana and Wisconsin. The community closed out the weekend with 40 homes sold.
To kick off the weekend of celebration, in partnership with the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 12. Rutherford County Mayor Joe Carr, County Commissioner Romel McMurry, Del Webb employees and community members gathered to welcome the significant addition to the community.
Demonstrating the joyous atmosphere that is integral to Del Webb communities, the all-day grand opening party occurred on Saturday. Homeowners, future residents and neighbors of the community toured the model homes and celebrated with live bands, food trucks, a Dolly Parton impersonator and a live golf simulator.The event demonstrated the upbeat and energetic lifestyle residents can expect at Southern Harmony.

”To pay homage to the history of Music City, Del Webb Southern Harmony partnered with Gibson on elements of the event and permanent features throughout the community. Showcased in its Stardom model home, Del Webb’s “Gibson Edition” house displays Gibson instruments and has a music room infused with the iconic brand. In addition, Gibson artist Matt Koziol performed an acoustic session at the grand opening, and Gibson Master Artisan Rickie Hinrichsen was on site to do a hand-carving guitar demonstration and showcase his latest instruments.
The 576 acres of land where the resort-style 55-plus community is located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee was previously owned by former Rutherford Country Mayor Ernest Burgess. Burgess still resides in his home neighboring the community and attended the eventto welcome his new neighbors.
Upon completion, Del Webb Southern Harmony will include 1,111 homes, a 21,000+ square foot clubhouse with a fitness center, pickleball and bocce ball courts, an amphitheater, a large outdoor resort pool, more than ten acres of freshwater ponds and miles of paved sidewalks and walking trails. The first home buyers are expected to move into the community located at 7079 Franklin Road in Murfreesboro in late fall.
