Industry veteran to oversee operations in Tennessee, Alabama and Florida for gigabit internet provider

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March. 28, 2024) – Google Fiber today announced that Nick Fischer has been named South Region General Manager, covering market operations across Tennessee, Alabama and Florida. In this role, Fischer will guide strategy and operations to connect residents and small businesses with Google Fiber gigabit internet with best-in-class customer service and support.

“At its core, GFiber has always believed that fast, quality internet should be accessible to everyone, helping to connect people to limitless opportunities and each other,” said Rocco Laurenzano, GFiber Chief Operating Officer. “It’s an exciting time for GFiber as we work to expand our network across the country and specifically in the South Region through Nick’s leadership.”

Fischer takes on this role at a time of significant growth in GFiber’s Southeastern market. Recent milestones in the region include bringing a 20 gigabit plan to reality for residents in Huntsville, celebrating 10 years serving customers in Miami and launching 5 and 8 gigabit plans in Nashville.

Since joining GFiber in 2014, Fischer has held various leadership roles in GFiber’s Nashville office and most recently served as Chief of Staff to the COO. Prior to that, he worked as a Sourcing Manager for AT Kearney. Fischer received his Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering with the highest distinction from Purdue University and an MBA from The Ohio State University.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Fischer moved to Nashville just over a decade ago and has become an active member of the community since. In his spare time, Nick enjoys being a dog dad to his two English Springer Spaniels, getting involved in the local direct to consumer farming community and tending to his own garden.
