Brighten Up Invites Community to Nominate Widows for Heartwarming Valentine’s Day Bouquet Deliveries

Nominations for deserving recipients open online now through Feb. 13

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 23, 2024) Brighten Up, a Nashville-based nonprofit dedicated to spreading love and joy throughout the community, is thrilled to announce its second annual initiative to deliver fresh cut flower arrangements to widows on Valentine’s Day. The organization invites the community to participate in this heartwarming outreach by nominating widows who could benefit from a special Valentine’s Day delivery through its online submission form before the Feb. 14 holiday.

“At Brighten Up, we believe that everyone deserves love and care on Valentine’s Day, especially those who may be feeling the absence of their late partner,” says Angie Hurst, founder of Brighten Up. “Our mission is to bring joy to widows in the Nashville community and show them that they are cherished, valued and remembered on an often-challenging day.”

As the organization embarks on its second annual event, Hurst has set a goal to brighten Valentine’s Day for 170 widows throughout the Greater Nashville community. New to this year’s initiative, Brighten Up will offer gifts to accompany the flower deliveries, made possible by generous donations from Goo Goo Cluster, Chef’s Market, Harvest House Publishers, Lifeway Christian Resources, Little Things Studio, Five G’s Custom Cookies and Nashville Wraps.

Brighten Up is asking for the support of the community to make this year’s program a success. In addition to submitting nominations, individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to join hands with Brighten Up by volunteering to help design and deliver the arrangements the week of Feb. 12. Donations in the form of flowers or funds are also helpful in making this Valentine’s Day a little brighter for these deserving nominees.
