Small & Diverse Business Expo Aims to Foster Inclusive Growth, Build a New Generation of Construction Industry Leaders
Nashville, Tenn. (May 12, 2023) – Four of Nashville’s top construction companies – Clark Construction Group, BELL Construction Company, Mortenson and Pinnacle Construction Partners (CBMP) – will host a Small & Diverse Business Expo (SDBX) on May 23 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel.
SDBX is an invitation to diverse small businesses and suppliers in the construction, engineering and architecture fields to learn more about competing for, winning and contributing to major construction projects that will shape our city and region for decades to come.
According to the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, 60% of the area businesses have less than 25 employees. As the construction boom continues in our city, SDBX’s goal is to increase the percentage of diverse small business owners benefiting from it.
SDBX will help small businesses:
- Learn how to pre-qualify and become certified with city, state and other agencies that often issue multi-billion-dollar contracts for projects like Music City Center or the Nashville International Airport expansion.
- Connect with reputable and reliable legal, insurance, bonding, accounting and other business services that specialize in advising firms in the building industry.
- Expand their professional network, find mentors and potential strategic partners that could open the doors to new opportunities and continued growth.
- Connect with members of the CBMP leadership team and learn about their commitment to growing and empowering small and diverse firms.
