In 1950, Williamson County’s population was just shy of 24,300. Now, a little more than 70 years later—a little less than the average Tennessean’s lifetime—the population is more than 10 times larger.

Back in 1958, a small community hospital provided all the care Williamson County residents needed. But over the years, as the region’s population has boomed, the need for exceptional healthcare close to home also grew—and today’s Williamson Health is rising to meet the challenge. Exploring the Brand

When it comes to Williamson Health, there’s a lot to explore. Anchored by Williamson Medical Center (WMC), its flagship acute-care hospital, Williamson Health has a presence in more than 30 locations across the county. Combining award-winning facilities, world-class technology and highly-skilled and compassionate providers, Williamson Health is more than a hospital—and the new parent brand reflects that. “The hospital is a vital part of who we are at Williamson Health, but we’ve grown to be much more than just the hospital,” says Phil Mazzuca, Chief Executive Officer of Williamson Health. “We’re a regional healthcare system that’s rooted in our history and our community, and the new Williamson Health brand allows us to talk more accurately about who we are as an organization and the care we provide.”

Announced earlier this year, Williamson Health is the new parent brand of Williamson Medical Center and its family of healthcare services and providers. In addition to WMC, the full-service system has providers across the entire healthcare spectrum, including Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee, The Turner-Dugas Breast Health Center, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Vanderbilt at Williamson Medical Center, Williamson Health physician practices that are strategically located throughout the community, countywide Emergency Medical Services (EMS) that include 18 rapid response units, Williamson Health Foundation, and multiple joint-venture Vanderbilt Health and Williamson Medical Center Walk-In Clinics in Williamson County. “While the new brand doesn’t change the day-to-day processes or affect patients and staff in any way, Williamson Health helps the community understand that we are more than a hospital,” says Michele Simpson, Williamson Health Director of Marketing and Communications. “The Williamson Health brand encompasses the many different healthcare services we provide throughout the region and better explains who we are to our patients and the community,” Simpson says.
