Mockingbird Songwriter Series (March 2)

The Mockingbird Theater will be hosting their Songwriter Series this Thursday at 7pm! This series of performances features songwriters that created numerous #1 hits for other artists like Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, and more! With acts including Matt Warren, Wynn Varble, and Dave Pahanish, this will be an evening of music, stories, and fun! 

 

9 to 5: The Musical (March 2-4)

9 to 5: The Musical is based on the 1980s movie of the same name. Playing at various times on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, this musical is filled with laughs and entertainment. With music and lyrics by Tennessee’s own Dolly Parton and performances by the Page Players of Page High School, this is a show you don’t want to miss!

 

Franklin Art Scene’s Art Crawl (March 3)

The Franklin Art Scene will be holding their monthly Art Crawl this Friday! This free event showcases Williamson county’s local artists and allows the community to view and purchase all different types of art. Galleries and studios are dispersed throughout Franklin’s historic downtown and many offer refreshments and live music! Williamson Source offers art crawl guests free trolley rides circulating through all of the stops from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m.. Enjoy your Friday night with family and friends at the Franklin Art Scene’s Art Crawl! 

 

Ringside: A Fight for Kids (March 3)

Benefiting children’s charities in the Nashville area through the Charley Foundation, “RINGSIDE: A Fight for Kids” is a premier boxing event for charity. Funds raised will provide assistance to underprivileged and disabled children through medical, recreational, and care groups in Middle Tennessee. Featuring dinner, live music, celebrity guests, a silent auction, and “Rumble on the Row” fights sanctioned by USA Boxing, this unique night of charity will take place at The Factory at Franklin this Friday at 6:30 pm! 

 

The Joey 5k (March 4)

Sponsored by real estate team Jenny Fann and the Gurus, the Inaugural Joey 5k will take place this Saturday at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm from 8am-12pm. The Joey 5k will be honoring Joey Fann and benefitting Discovery Place, a non-profit organization providing affordable alcohol and drug addiction recovery programs! You are invited to walk or run this 5k with the Williamson County community, shine a light on the epidemic of addiction, and remind others that they are not alone. 

 

Weed Wrangle at Owl’s Hill (March 4)

Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary is looking for volunteers to help eradicate invasive species like harmful trees, vines, and plants so that our native ecosystem can thrive. Partnering with Invasive Plant Control and The Garden Club of Nashville, Owl’s Hill will provide participants of their 2023 Weed Wrangle with lunch and knowledge of how to maintain an area free of invasive plants! Bring your own gloves and water bottle, remember to wear sturdy attire, and get ready to join the movement. 

 

Farmers Markets (March 4)

These local farmers markets prove the importance of contributing to your community and offer the perfect opportunity to support your local farmers, kitchens, and artisans! 

  • You can find The Franklin Farmers Market every Saturday morning behind The Factory at Franklin with numerous vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, handcrafted items, and local art. 
  • The Nolensville Winter Farmers Market will be taking place every Saturday until April from 10am-1pm at the Mill Creek Church of Christ. Local farmers and artisans will offer fresh, seasonal foods and unique crafts!

 

Watercolor Basics (March 4)

Williamson County Parks & Recreation will be hosting a class on the basics of painting with watercolor this Saturday from 10am-2pm! This beginners’ workshop will cover all the paint, paper, and brush options, as well as the three main types of color mixing! Make sure to register ahead of time to participate and experiment with different techniques! 

 

Nashville Predators Official Watch Party (March 4)

The Nashville Predators Bud Light Official Watch Party + Happy Hour will be hosted at The Franklin Theatre this Saturday at 7pm! Watch the Nashville Predators take on The Chicago Blackhawks with the Preds Energy Team, raffles, and food and drink specials! 

 

Kite Festival (March 5)

Williamson County Parks & Recreation’s 1st Annual Kite Festival will take place this Sunday from 1pm-4pm! Partnering with Chicago Kite, this free family event offers various types of kites and stunt kites! Featuring kite flying, food trucks, and a kids’ activity booth, the Kite Festival is sure to be an instant classic within the Williamson County community!
