City Snowplow Receives New Name From Citizens, “Scoop Dogg” Piles Up the Most Votes!

Franklin — The votes are in, and a City snowplow has a new name! Introducing: “Scoop Dog!” Be on the lookout for this big bad snow-clearing machine on snowy days. More than three hundred citizens submitted names to the City’s first-of-its-kind plow naming contest, and the Streets Department chose ten creative entries to compete for the top prize Here are the final results from the 2,120 votes cast on www.franklintn.gov:

“Scoop Dogg” came in first with a commanding 28.21% (598) of the votes, “PlowaBunga” came close to taking the top prize with 25.85% (548) of the votes, and “Rhinestone Plowboy” hustled its way to third place with 17.31% (367) of the votes. The winning submission came to us from Jana Case, David McKay, Molly Ayers and Linda Locke. They are all invited to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting on Tuesday, February 28th, to be formally recognized. There will also be a photo opportunity with the newly named snowplow prior to the 7pm meeting.
