Publix stores annual Feeding More Together holiday food campaign will benefit GraceWorks

Publix will match donations to GraceWorks now through Nov. 20 through Publix’ annual Feeding More Together corporate campaign.

Publix customers are invited at the register to donate any dollar amount. Publix will match the contribution with an equivalent amount of fresh produce, which will be given to help fill GraceWorks’ Food Pantry.

Since 2015, Publix has joined GraceWorks’ mission of Neighbor serving Neighbor by providing 1,263,718 pounds of food to GraceWorks through corporate campaigns and rescue food items. In-kind food donations are in addition to Publix’ generous annual grant awards for the GraceWorks food program.

“We are so grateful for our partnership with Publix,” said GraceWorks CEO Valencia A. Breckenridge. “Publix’ effort to engage the community is an example of how they powerfully partner with GraceWorks’ mission of Neighbor serving Neighbor. This year’s campaign is especially critical as requests for food have grown dramatically. This year’s first quarter, from July through September, food demand has increased 62% from the first quarter in 2021.”

In addition, USDA has significantly limited provision of eggs, milk, butter, and meat, which has forced GraceWorks to find other costly avenues to obtain these necessary products for Neighbors struggling with higher food costs and unprecedented rent increases.

The Publix campaign will continue through Nov. 20 at local stores. Nationwide Publix has provided more than 59 million meals to families in need.
