COTA Benefit for Rose

The Franklin Theatre is hosting a singer-songwriter concert and art sale this Tuesday (Nov. 15)! All proceeds from this event will benefit the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) in honor of 8-month-old Rose Daniel who was born in Nashville with a rare liver disease and underwent a liver transplant at 5 months old. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the evening will start with cocktails and an art sale with works from local artists. The singer-songwriter show will start at 7 p.m. featuring stories and songs to raise awareness for COTA in helping with transplant-related expenses. 

 

Meet the Astronomer Talk + Telescope Viewing

Vanderbilt University Astronomy Professor Dr. David Weintraub will be talking about his newest book The Sky is for Everyone: Women Astronomers in Their Own Words at the Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory in Brentwood this Thursday (Nov. 17)! Dr. Weintraub founded and directs the Communication of Science and Technology program at Vanderbilt University and performs research on the formation of stars and planets. The Sky is for Everyone is a collection of essays written by women from all around the world who overcame barriers and changed the game of modern astronomy. After the discussion on Dr. Weintraub’s new book, there will be a telescope viewing. Spend your Thursday night at this exciting discussion on women in astronomy and maybe you will even be able to spot some planets afterwards! 

 

FrankTown Festival of Lights

The FrankTown Festival of Lights will be opening Friday night (Nov. 18) for the 2022 holiday season! This incredible holiday light show will be running nightly from 5 p.m.- 9 p.m. until December 31st. Located at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center, The FrankTown Festival of Lights is a rain or shine event benefiting local nonprofit FrankTown Open Hearts. This mile-and-a-half-long drive-thru light show features over 200 displays synchronized to Christmas classics on the radio. There will be 5 Walkin’ Wednesdays this season (Nov. 23, 30 & Dec. 7, 14, 28) where guests can park their cars and walk the path from 5 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. with a fire pit for s’mores at the end! Make sure to plan a night at the FrankTown Festival of Lights this holiday season to enjoy this amazing light show with friends and family! 

 

Made South Holiday Market

The Factory at Franklin is hosting the 2022 Made South Holiday Market this Friday night and Saturday morning (Nov. 18-19)! With over 60 southern artisan booths, you can do all of your Christmas shopping while supporting small businesses! Dubbed as “the best holiday market in the state of Tennessee” by Food & Wine Magazine, the Made South Holiday Market will be waiting for you to stop by this weekend in The Factory at Franklin! 

 

Pinewood Christmas Tree Farm

Pinewood Christmas Tree Farm’s opening weekend is coming up! This small family farm celebrates their 5th year of opening for the holidays on Saturday (Nov. 19)! With options of pre-cut firs as well as choose-and-cut trees, Pinewood Christmas Tree Farm is a one-stop destination for the perfect Christmas tree. Celebrate the season with a free hayride through the farm along with some delicious hot chocolate and s’mores around a fire. Their gift shop offers handmade wreaths, garlands, and other Christmas necessities. To top it all off, Santa will be visiting the farm on select dates for free visits and pictures throughout the season!
