NURTURE THE NEXT ANNOUNCES ANNUAL SHARE THE PAIN EVENT TO RAISE FUNDS FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SURVIVORS
Nashville community to fundraise for Tennessee’s only statewide domestic violence helpline
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 18, 2022 – Kristen Davis, president and CEO of Nurture the Next, Tennessee’s largest provider of in-home support for vulnerable families, announced today the annual “Share the Pain” fundraising event will be held Saturday, October 22 at 9 A.M.
Share the Pain is an annual workout fundraiser aiming to raise money to strengthen the services provided by Nurture the Next to domestic violence survivors during the month of October – Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Nurture the Next operates the only statewide domestic violence helpline in Tennessee, operating 24/7.
This year’s event will be held at a single location – bringing the Nashville community together. The body strengthening workout will be led by a certified personal trainer, Marie Smith, at Plaza Mariachi.
“We are excited for the Nashville community to join together during Domestic Violence Awareness Month to aid our mission of expanding our capacity and scope of our domestic violence helpline,” said Davis. “Across Tennessee, we answered more than 12,600 calls between July 2020 and June 2021. That is only a fraction of the domestic violence cases in our state. With the help of our Share the Pain event, we hope to provide our services to Tennesseans who need them. Together, we will make certain that no one faces domestic violence alone.”
For a donation, individuals can participate in the Share the Pain event, support Nurture the Next’s helpline, receive an event t-shirt and enjoy tacos, a nacho bar and a drink after. This is a 21+ event.
