Hot on Scrooge’s heels, Downtown Franklin launches 12 Days of Christmas

There are dozens of special events planned for Historic Downtown Franklin’s “12 Days of Christmas” celebration Dec. 10-21 with downtown merchants bringing out trunk shows, holiday décor classes, door prizes, deep discounts, open houses and special deals on personal treats—food, beverages, even massages—to keep holiday shoppers energized and enjoying the season.

Downtown Franklin’s 12 Days of Christmas begins the day after the nationally recognized Dickens of a Christmas street festival Dec. 8-9 as a way to help locals enjoy the historic shopping district after the big event and leading right up to the holiday week.

“There are many special holiday events and services, as well as great discounts and sales in the 15-block shopping district in Downtown Franklin during these last weeks before Christmas,” said organizer Dena Nance. “You will find the information posted around Downtown Franklin and on our websites at www.historicfranklin.com and www.downtownfranklintn.com.

The list of activities is long and changes daily throughout the 12 days, and includes specials on everything from toys to eyeglasses. Downtown Franklin’s tour company, Franklin on Foot, is offering a special Spirits and Sparkles holiday tour Dec. 14, music venues such as Puckett’s Restaurant, Bunganut Pig, The Listening Room, Kimbro’s Cafe and McCreary’s Pub offer live entertainment and virtually everyone has extended hours throughout the season. “Twelve Days of Christmas offers a lot of special deals and a very high level of customer service to help shoppers enjoy the holiday season in Downtown Franklin,” said Downtown Franklin Association director Nancy Williams. “From the time the big tree is lighted on the Square, throughout Dickens of Christmas, and on through the 12 Days promotion, there are many ways to enjoy the incredible variety of shopping, dining and entertainment now offered in Historic Downtown Franklin.”
