WCPR REGISTERING FOR YOUTH SPRING FLAG FOOTBALL, VOLLEYBALL LEAGUES AND TENNIS CLINICS

The Athletics Division of Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) is now registering for upcoming Youth Spring Flag Football, Volleyball leagues and Winter Junior Tennis Clinics.

YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL

Registration is now open for Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s (WCPR) Spring 2020 NFL Youth Flag Football program at the Robert A. Ring Indoor Soccer Arena, 1878 Downs Blvd. in Franklin, Tennessee. All registration is online at www.wcparksandrec.com. 

The non-contact indoor league is for boys and girls ages 5-13. The league will have four age divisions: 5-6 (Reg. code #15985), 7-8 (#15896), 9-10 (#15987), and 11-13 (#15984). Age as of August 31, 2019, and a copy of a birth certificate must be provided. A mandatory draft will take place on Thursday, February 27 at the Robert A Ring Indoor Soccer Arena, 1878 Downs Blvd., Franklin. The 5-6 Division does not have a draft, teams are assigned. Games are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday nights, March 23 – May 15.

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL

Registration is now open for the Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s (WCPR) Spring 2020 Youth Co-ed Volleyball leagues for kids ages 7 to 15 (age as of August 31, 2019).  

The purpose of the program is to teach the fundamentals of volleyball to beginners and hone the skills of more experienced players. The leagues are divided into three age groups: introductory (ages 7-9); intermediate (ages 10-12) and advanced (ages 13-15). This year the league will offer three options for practice locations: Franklin, Brentwood or Nolensville. Register for the practice location you prefer. All games will be played on Saturdays with most matches held at Academy Park Gym, 920 Everbright Ave. in Franklin.

Registration ends on February 17. There will be a draft on March 2 for intermediate and advanced leagues. Practices will start on Saturday, March 7. The season is scheduled for March 9 through May 19. 

The Introductory League (ages 7-9) is designed to build basic volleyball skills. Games and practices will be with volley lite balls and players do not have to serve from behind the baseline. Coaches are volunteers and will help explain the rules during game play. The registration fee is $65. Registration codes: Brentwood (#15996), Franklin (#115997), or Nolensville (#15998).

The Intermediate League is for kids ages 10-12 who are beginners and want to improve their volleyball skills. This level is for players who have not played regularly or do not have middle school/travel experience.  Games will be played with standard volleyballs, and players will not be required to serve from behind the baseline. To conclude the season, a round robin tournament will be scheduled in May. The registration fee is $90. Registration codes: Brentwood (#15999), Franklin (#16000), or Nolensville (#16001).

The Advanced League is for 13-15 year olds who desire intense and competitive training and have middle school or travel volleyball experience. Players will be required to serve from behind the baseline and will be encouraged to serve overhand. Games will be played according to TSSAA rules. To conclude the season, a round robin tournament will be scheduled in May. The registration fee is $90. Registration codes: Brentwood (#16002), Franklin (#16003), or Nolensville (#16004).

WINTER JUNIOR TENNIS CLINICS

Registration for WCPR’s Winter Indoor Tennis Clinics (Session 3) for juniors will open January 14. The clinics will begin the week of February 17 and continue through March 28 at the Indoor Sports Complex in Brentwood, 920 Heritage Way.  Junior tennis clinics (age 5 and older) in beginner through advanced skill levels are offered Monday(s) through Saturday(s).  Prices vary depending on the duration of clinic.
