STUDIO TENN ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE OF ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

“One Night Only” Gala To Celebrate Matt Logan With Studio Tenn’s Inaugural Legacy Award

Franklin, TN – September 26, 2018 – Studio Tenn, an award-winning and professional theatre company, today announced the departure of its artistic director, Matt Logan, effective November 2018. Mr. Logan is departing to pursue new creative opportunities.

Mr. Logan founded Studio Tenn in 2009 with two-time Emmy Award winning producer Philip Hall and Broadway actress Marguerite Hall. Over the past nine years as artistic director, Mr. Logan directed and designed costumes and sets for more than 40 productions. Mr. Logan is widely-considered a prominent arts leader throughout middle Tennessee and has been featured in Nashville Arts Magazine and recently profiled on the cover of NFocus Magazine.

“I’ve accomplished everything I had hoped and dreamed of doing with Studio Tenn,” Mr. Logan said. “With this incredible team, including the Studio Tenn staff, Board of Directors, generous donors and audience, I feel we have done the impossible. Over the past nine years, we built an award-winning professional theatre company of the highest-quality and created nationally-recognized performances.” Mr. Logan continued, “I am very grateful for what we have done. While my role has changed, my support for this company and its people has not. I am excited about what creative endeavors are before me.”

President of the Board of Directors, Philip Hall, also commented on Mr. Logan’s departure. “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank Matt for his uncompromising dedication to Studio Tenn. The artistic integrity of Studio Tenn will always be linked to Matt Logan and his creative vision for the company. We look forward to his continued success and many collaborations in the future.”

Studio Tenn will celebrate Mr. Logan’s vision, talent, and leadership at this year’s “One Night Only” gala by presenting him with the Studio Tenn Legacy Award. Studio Tenn’s Managing Director, Todd Morgan, said, “The Studio Tenn Legacy Award has been created to honor a visionary of theatrical work in our industry. Our inaugural recipient and company founder, Matt Logan, exemplifies that persona and we are eternally grateful to him for creating and nurturing this company to where we are today. The body of work Matt crafted at Studio Tenn is a true reflection of his unique talents as a multi-faceted artist. I hope that all of our friends and family in the Arts community will join me at this year’s ‘One Night Only’ as we celebrate the past and future of Studio Tenn.”

“One Night Only” was named the “Most Fun Party” and “Best Entertainment” by NFocus Magazine. This year the red carpet affair and online auction will be held at the War Memorial Auditorium in downtown Nashville on Friday, October 19, 2018. For tickets and more information, visit StudioTenn.com.

A national search for a new Artistic Director is underway. In the interim, Managing Director, Todd Morgan, and Associate Producer, Benjamin Kern, will continue to oversee the artistic leadership of the company. Mr. Kern will transition from his current role at Studio Tenn to serve as interim Artistic Director for the company, beginning with the next production of “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” playing December 7 – 30 at Jamison Hall in Franklin.
