Special Census City Hopes Contest
Currently, more than 59,000 people have registered but the City estimates the population at 70,000. An accurate population count helps the City better plan for facilities and services. It also means an increase in the amount of state-shared revenues the City receives. Census cards were mailed to every household in Franklin in August.
Residents visit the city’s website at http://www.franklintn.gov/2014specialcensus to complete a form online. The form takes less than a minute to complete and is very easy to do.
“It’s important that every person is counted,” said City Administrator Eric Stuckey. “We’ve had such good participation so far, but many people have not signed up yet and it only takes a few minutes! . This information is vital for us to get the City’s fair share of money from the state of Tennessee to pay for services to serve our growing population. The information required from citizens is very limited and the City is committed to protecting it appropriately.”
All residents including homeowners and renters can sign up today for their chance to win an IPAD mini or a $50.00 gift card just in time for the holidays! To register go to http://www.franklintn.gov/2014specialcensus.
