You will not be bored when you come visit Franklin, TN. There are endless options for entertainment in Historic Downtown Franklin, Cool Springs and Brentwood. Of course, nearby Music City, Nashville, TN has tons more cultural, outdoor and shopping options to choose from. Whether you are here for the weekend or moving to town, you are sure to find plenty of activites in the area.

While visiting Franklin, you can fill your day touring historical sites like The Carter House or Historic Carnton Plantation, antique shopping at Winchester Antiques, The Franklin Antique Mall, Antiques at The Factory, Walton’s Antique & Est. Jewelry, or visit the Factory at Franklin for great restaurants, culinary classes, art galleries, cute boutiques or to paint your own pottery. At night, settle down for a nice walk along the friendly and safe downtown area, take a walking tour by Franklin on Foot, or take a tour by Franklin’s own pedicab service. Choose from several dinner establishments including McCreary’s Irish Pub & Eatery, Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant, Mellow Mushroom, or the Red Pony Restaurant. Catch live music at Puckett’s or McCreary’s Irish Pub or go straight to dessert and enjoy decadent cupcake at Ivey Cake, ice cream from Baskin Robbins or Ben & Jerry’s and wind down the evening with a latte from Starbuck’s. Nashville is only a 30 minute drive and has much to offer from professional sports teams to world class musical performances, beautiful historic homes to peaceful parks.

Depending on when you are in town you may want to catch a Tennessee Titans football game, a Nashville Predators Ice Hockey game, or a Nashville Sounds’ baseball game. If you are more interested in the arts, perhaps visit the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, or catch a performance by the Nashville Ballet, Nashville Symphony or a touring production at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

If you want live music get tickets to the Grand Ole Opry, and check out Ticketmaster to see if there is a show at the famous Ryman Auditorium or the Sommet Center. You could even catch a show on the General Jackson Showboat while cruising the Cumberland River.You can always get as much FREE music as you want by walking down Broadway and up Second Street where almost every establishment features live music. Be sure to peek in the famous Wildhorse Saloon, the official home of CMT’s Most Wanted Live.

Of course there are endless opportunities for eating and shopping when you hit the big city. There are many cool areas with unique boutiques and several big malls including OpryMills and The Mall at Green Hills. Other notable tourist attractions include the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Belmont Mansion.

If you want to spend some time outdoors may we suggest Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, Nashville Shores, President Andrew Jackson’s home The Hermitage, the Nashville Zoo, the Parthenon at Centennial Park or visit one of the Tennessee State Parks for a walk, picnic or hike.
