Snowbird will Visit

Snowbird, the Mid-South’s most recognizable penguin, will visit the 2008 Williamson County Fair presented by Tractor Supply Company on Monday, August 4th from 5pm-7pm.  Stop by the air-conditioned arena to meet and get a photo with WSMV Channel 4’s Snowbird!

Snowbird has been notifying Tennessee and Kentucky schoolchildren about school closings for over 25 years as part of the WSMV family. Known for his quick wit and fun-loving personality, Snowbird has established himself as an honest-to-goodness television celebrity.

During his long career, Snowbird has appeared in numerous public service announcements, starred in three Christmas specials and hosted children’s programs about sportsmanship and self-esteem. The Bird has won numerous awards, including regional Emmy awards.

The 2008 fair offers convenient, free on-site parking and shuttle buses to the main gate provided by Nissan North America.  Regular admission to the fair is $5 in advance, $6 at the gate. Children ages 6 – 12 are $2 in advance, $3 at the gate. Children ages 5 and under are free. Advance tickets are on sale at ten Middle Tennessee Tractor Supply Company locations and twenty area Daily’s convenience stores through the end of the fair. Nine-day general admission passes are available (at the gate only) for $30 for adults and $15 for children ages 6-12.
