Serving Dinner Your Way

Serving Dinner Your Way

The food at the reception is an opportunity for couples to discreetly display their personal passions. Including special foods or beverages at the wedding reception is the perfect way to add your personal touch.

The couple may want to announce their reasons for serving certain dishes or explain it on the menu. Likewise, couples may want to conceal their reasons and let guests enjoy the food for what it is. It is certainly meaningful to guests to know these types of personal touches, but it can be equally special for the couple to keep it as their little secret.

There are several different ways couples can include personal touches to what is served at their wedding reception. The couple may choose to serve dishes based on their family heritage. Serving cultural dishes to honor a grandmother from India is a way to make the reception memorable. Childhood favorites borrowed from family recipes are likely to be popular among wedding guests.

The couple may also have special foods or beverages that remind them of their own story. If the couple had a special meal together whether during the first date or the proposal, they might chose to serve a similar meal at the reception dinner.

Couples can serve a wine at their reception that was made from a vineyard the couple visited or that they drank to celebrate another occasion.

Some couples are requesting to recreate dishes that were served at wedding receptions of their parents or grandparents. Incorporating special food and beverages certainly adds a personal touch on the wedding reception. Couples will enjoy having soulful dishes for their first meal as newlyweds rather than dishes they chose from a caterer’s list. Guests are also likely to welcome the creativity and enjoy something different than standard reception food.
