Senior Trip to the Tennessee Aquarium

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s Seniors division takes a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium! 

 

The two hour trip to Chattanooga begins via motor coach from the Franklin Recreation Complex on Thursday, October 11^th at 7:45 a.m. Upon arrival, senior participants, ages 55 and older can explore the Tennessee Aquarium River Journey and Ocean Journey buildings, home to more than 12,000 animals including fish, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, birds and butterflies. Known as the first major freshwater life center in the United States, the aquarium is devoted to the wildlife habitats of the Tennessee River. In addition, the Aquarium trip participants can travel a series of cascading ramps down through exhibits of the Appalachian Cove Forest, stunning waterfalls, the Mississippi Delta and six of the world’s most prominent river systems. 

 

Lunch is at your own discretion at a selection of restaurants near the Aquarium including TGI Fridays, Blue Plate, Big River Grill, Mellow Mushroom, Easy Seafood Company and Blue Water. Don’t miss this Tennessee asset and a great educational trip!

Cost is $24.00 per person with lunch as Dutch-Treat. Check-in time the day of the trip begins at 7:45 a.m. with an estimated return time of 4:30 p.m. Transportation is provided by motor coach and will leave from the Franklin Recreation Complex located at 1120 Hillsboro Rd., Franklin. Space is limited!

 

Williamson County residents may register for the trip between September 21^st and October 9^th. Non-residents are welcome to register between September 26^th and October 9^th.  To register, call 790-5719, ext. 10 beginning at 9:00 a.m. on or after the first registration date. You must speak with a receptionist in order to make a reservation. 

 

Reservations must be paid within 5 days of registration in order to be held. Payment may be received by mail, over the phone or in person (credit card purchases must be over $20.00 and will include a small processing fee) and are non-refundable after the final registration date; unless, the seat is filled from the waiting list. Participants may register up to 4 additional people for each trip.
