‘PAWSOME GALA’ TOPS $79,000

Sell-out crowd attends

The first annual ‘Pawsome Gala’ presented by the Friends of Williamson County Animal Center raised $79,384.00 for the benefit of animals in the care of Williamson County Animal Center in Franklin. A sell-out crowd of 250 enjoyed a fun-filled evening on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the Barn at Sycamore Farms in Arrington, TN.

Attendees bid on over 100 silent auction items, including photography sessions, a custom quilt, original art, and custom pet items.  During a spirited live auction, partygoers bid on a trip to Tuscany, a Predators premium game package, exclusive dance lessons, a cruise, and a pampered pet stay at the Farm at Natchez Trace.

Anne Logan, chairperson of the Friends of WCAC board, said “Proceeds from this event will be used to fund specialized medical care at the shelter, a pet behaviorist and more. We are especially excited about the county’s plans to build a new shelter in the next two years. Part of the funds raised at ‘A Pawsome Gala’ will be earmarked for use in the new building.”

Ondrea Johnson, shelter director, said that “the support of Friends of WCAC is vital to our shelter-they put the immediate needs of our animals first, and are always there to help.”  Johnson added that local businesses lent their support to the March 7 event, led by presenting sponsor F&M Bank. Other Pawsome Gala sponsors included:  Animalia; Buerger, Moseley & Carson, PLC; Battleground Animal Clinic; James & Edie Pfeffer; Barge Design Solutions; Berry Farms Animal Hospital; Emily Magid; John and Marianne Schroer; Judy Hayes; Oversite; Synergy Bank; and Williamson County elected officials.
