Parents Night Out

The Williamson  County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce two nighttime arts and crafts classes, October 10th and 11th, at the Franklin Recreation Complex that will occupy kids with creative fun and provide parents with a few “kid-free” hours for a workout, dinner or shopping.

Kids age 6 and older are invited to get spooky by creating a mobile of mummies, hairy spiders, witchy hats and brooms in this craft workshop. Build a mobile and then take it home to hang in your room. It just might glow in the dark! Join the fun on Friday, October 10th, from 6:15pm-8:15pm. Class fee is $10, with a supply fee of $5. The instructor will be Sammie Shalibo. Space is limited, so register by calling the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road, 790-5719, ext. 10.

Girls 9 to 12 who love American Girl dolls will love this 3-hour sewing workshop. Participants will learn how to make aprons for themselves and one for their favorite doll. Basic machine sewing will be taught, and each participant should bring a working machine threaded with white thread. Bring basic sewing supplies like scissors, pins, and measuring tape. Some machines available by reservation.  American Girl Sewing will be Saturday, October 11th, from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Class fee is $25, plus a supply fee of $5. For ages 9 to 12.  Call to register and reserve a machine: 790-5719, ext. 20, Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road.
