The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department announces new arts and crafts classes at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. WCPRD is a public organization, here to benefit the community. No membership is required. Anyone, including out-of-county residents, can register for and participate in our classes – even if you don’t have a facility pass. Go Green Grocery Bag-Basic Sewing
Make an environmental statement and “go green” with a sturdy, handmade, reusable, washable grocery bag. Your stylish bag will have two secure handles and plenty of room for grocery shopping. Choose from a variety of colors and fabrics. Learn to construct your bag in this basic sewing class. No special skills required. Bring your own sewing machine or reserve one of ours by calling 790-5719, ext. 20. Class fee: $12, plus supply fee of $8 payable to instructor. Cardmaking for Busy People
Make a quick set of 9 cards (3 each of 3 sizes) out of just 5 sheets of 12” by 12” paper! Keep them for yourself or give as gifts. Dress them up or leave them plain. Bring a 12” paper trimmer (if you have one), and adhesive (red 3M tape runner) from any craft store. Class fee: $8, plus $5 supply fee payable to instructor Pam Butler.
