ART CLASSES AT LONGVIEW
The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department announces a variety of new art classes for adults at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill. BRUSH THE SKY
Paint along with April James as she shows you how to paint your own masterpiece step by step. Your finished painting is yours to keep and take home at the end of the night. No experience necessary. Brush the Sky will meet the second Friday of each month with a different subject to paint each month. Visit www.apriljamesart.com to view this month’s painting. This class for teens and adults will meet Friday, March 13th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The class fee is $40 and all supplies are included. INTRODUCTION TO BEGINNING QUILTING
Interested in learning to quilt? This is a quilting class for those who have never sewn or have sewn very little. Participants will get to know their sewing machine. Learn about fabrics, quilting tools and quilting vocabulary while sewing six different six inch blocks. During the class you will complete a 30 inch square quilt great for a wall hanging, lap quilt or baby carriage. This class will meet on Saturdays, March 14th – April 25th (skip 4/11) from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. The course is for ages 12 years and up, and the fee is $30. RECYCLED TOTE BAG
Learn to crochet while recycling at the same time! Turn all those plastic grocery bags into “plarn” and whip up a handy tote bag to bring your groceries home! This class is for both beginners and those with crochet experience. Students will need to bring 50-60 brown/tan or white grocery bags, 10-15 grocery bags in another color and a size “N” metal crochet hook. The class will meet on Tuesdays, March 10th – 31st from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The class is for all ages, and the fee is $40. The instructor is Twila Dry.
