Miss Cindy Preschool Crafts in Franklin

The Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce a new preschool crafts program at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Popular summer instructor “Miss Cindy” Hester will be teaching the new preschool art program, designed for children ages 3 to 6.

 

Several classes and times will be offered, each with choices of days and times. While having fun with crafts, children will practice preschool skills like colors, shapes and letter recognition.

 

Create royal things for Kings and Queens and explore a variety of art themes. Children will create projects out of different shapes.

 

Choose: Wednesdays, September 3^rd and 10^th from 8:30am-10am OR

Thursdays, September 4^th and 11^th from 8:30am-10am

Come have fun with the Gingerbread man, the three Little Pigs, the Little Red Hen and Cinderella. Children will read two stories each week, make a craft for each and do activities based on the tale. The activities in the class will provide a fun way to practice preschool skills.

Fall is apple season and time for apple creations! In this class, students will create all kinds of apple crafts. Children will print with apples, make an apple tree, make an apple with applesauce dough and a soft sculpture apple. Even the books will be about apples!

Tuesdays, September 2^nd and 9^th from 8:30am-10:00am

This class will explore the letters A – F! Each week will cover 3 letters. As the children make a craft for each letter, they will talk about the sound it makes, things that start with the letter and practice printing each letter. Each child will need to bring in 3 pictures for each letter to make an alphabet collage. Week one is A-B-C, and week two is D-E-F. The class will end with an alphabet book.

Imagination is all you need for this class. Come and create one-of-a-kind works of art! Fall inspired supplies will be offered in this class such as fall paint colors, markers, crayons, papers and clay. A variety of fall stamps will also be available.

Come have fun with the Three Billy Goats Gruff, the Ugly Duckling, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. After reading the stories, children will make a craft for each one and do activities based on the tale. The activities in the class will provide a fun way to practice preschool skills.

Red, yellow, green, orange and brown- these are the colors of fall! In this class the projects will be inspired by nature, including a fall wreath, a fall tree, fall mosaic and leaf rubbings, plus read some books about the fall season.

Tuesdays, September 16^th and 23^rd from 8:30am-10am
