Local event raises thousands for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Again this year on Halloween, Ascend Federal Credit Union asked the community to join them in the fight to end blood-borne cancers, participating in Costumed for a Cure to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
On Oct. 31, Ascend employees from all over Middle Tennessee dressed up in their most creative Halloween costumes and brought in decorated pumpkins. Anyone who visited an Ascend branch could vote for their favorite costume or pumpkin with a donation. The event raised $2,190 from employee and member donations — nearly $600 more than 2018. Over the past 13 years, this brings the total to $33,353.
A hit with employees and members alike year after year, Ascend has become one of the top fundraising companies in Tennessee that participates in the LLS Costumed for a Cure charity event. LLS is the leader in advancing breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine. LLS also helps ensure patients have access to quality, affordable and coordinated care.
