LATE SUMMER ACTIVITIES OFFER FUN

Day trips, camps and classes for ages 3-17

Summer may be winding down, but Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) still has tons of classes, camps and day trips for ages 3-17.  All activities are open to the public. Options include art, science, technology, dance, and one-day trips to area attractions. Camps are offered at several locations throughout the county. JEAPS and Boredom BustersJEAPS is for adventurous 11 to 15 year olds. There are six trips to choose from, including canoeing (7/18), Nashville Airsoft (7/27), Holiday World amusement park (8/1), and a beach party at Deer Run Camp (8/8).  Boredom Busters are day trips for ages 6-15, including Mammoth Cave (7/19), Adventure Science Center (7/24), skating and Pump It Up (7/26), Breakout Games (7/31), and an end-of-summer trip for ziplining and paddleboarding (8/2).  All trips leave from the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Art/Science/Technology Camps

Register now for Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s art, science and technology summer camps. Choose from Recycled Art, Color Wheels Crazy Chemistry, Super Hero Science, Video Game Design, Garden to Spoon, Car creator-Robot Workshop, and more.  Camp locations: the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road; the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd.; the Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill; and the Williamson County Recreation Complex at Nolensville, 7250 Nolensville Rd.  To view a list of camps and a link to on-line registration, go to www.wcparksandrec.com

 

Rhythm & Spirit Dance, Cheer & Tumbling Camps

Registration is now underway for Williamson County Parks and Recreation’s summer Rhythm & Spirit camps for kids ages 3 to 15.  Camps include Ballerina Prep, My Doll & Me Princess Dance and Sampler Dance at the Fairview Recreation Complex, 2714 Fairview Blvd. and Beginner & Intermediate Sampler Dance Camps at the Longview Recreation Center at Spring Hill, 2909 Commonwealth Drive. Hairspray to Hamilton

Hairspray to Hamilton is a Broadway style intensive summer camp that showcases a wide variety of music-from energetic group numbers to stirring ballads from Broadway favorites like Hamilton, Hairspray and Wicked. Students will present a musical revue on the last day for parents and friends. July 23-27 (#11753) at the Performing Arts Center at Academy Park, 112 Everbright Ave. Camps meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily. For ages 7-17. $200 per child.
