Kathryn Withers Joins Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon, Inc.

 

NASHVILLE, TN – Kathryn Withers, AICP, has joined Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon, Inc., as Planning Manager.

Withers has more than 18 years of professional experience as an Urban Planner, winning multiple project awards. Her work has focused on the regeneration of Nashville’s urban corridors and neighborhoods through planning policy and zoning efforts. She has led teams in the creation of various Metro Nashville community plans, urban design overlays and specific plan districts and their administration.

Prior to joining Barge Waggoner, Withers was the Community Planning and Design Manager for the Nashville-Davidson County Metropolitan Planning Department, working on major projects such as NashvilleNext, Downtown Code, and the Major and Collector Street Plan. She has also been employed as an Urban Planner for LRK Architects and has served as a city planner for the City of Franklin.  

Withers is involved with the Nashville Civic Design Center and affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and Urban Land Institute. She spends her free time as a Lockeland Elementary Brownie Troop (#291) Leader.

After earning an undergraduate in Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee, Withers obtained her Master’s in City and Regional Planning from Clemson University.
