ALL BANDS ALL DAY
The JAM is an advanced music camp for aspiring young musicians who have a minimum of 2 years experience. Each JAM student arrives on the first day of camp assigned to two different bands – a Clinic Band and a Showcase Band – based on their music genre preferences. They spend the week collaborating with their bands: choosing a set list, determining a name, and perfecting their songs. By the end of the week they are performance ready. On the last two nights of camp, the students rock the stage, playing sets with each of their bands. It’s a pretty remarkable feat for these talented musicians who met just 5 days before.
At the JAM, vocalists and instrumentalists are invited to spend one or two weeks at the BGA campus in Franklin, TN, learning the craft of musicianship within a band rehearsal setting. For the ultimate experience, most students attend both weeks.
The JAM offers supervised rehearsal sessions with professional instruction, musician clinics, and TWO live student showcases at week’s end. Participants can expect to collaborate, compose, and study as a semi-professional band, while learning the craft of songwriting from some of Music Row’s finest hitmakers. By participating in two bands, JAM students will experience an intense, fun-filled week of music of all genres.

We feel that the JAM students learn much more by ACTIVELY participating in music clinics. To maximize playing time and to enhance intense instructional time, all students will participate in two bands – a morning clinic band and an afternoon showcase band.
This format allows the students to learn by participation; to collaborate with highly respected and educated clinicians; and to network with other students.

AGE REQUIREMENTS (11-19)
The JAM does not accept students under age 11. For those looking for a summer music experience for students under age 11, we refer you to Kids On Stage.
