Open House at Boiling Spring Academy

The Open House at Boiling Spring Academy offers visitors an opportunity to step inside one of Brentwood’s historic landmarks and learn about education and daily life in the 1800s. Typically held on the first Sunday of each month from June through October, the open house welcomes the public to explore the one-room schoolhouse and its surrounding historic site.

Built in 1830, Boiling Spring Academy provides a glimpse into an era when schools operated without electricity, running water, or modern technology. The property is also home to the Fewkes Site, a Native American prehistoric mound site dating from approximately A.D. 900–1500. The school, park, and archaeological site were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
