Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival
The Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual spring celebration of Japanese culture and the enduring friendship between Japan and the United States. Typically held in April at Nashville Public Square Park, the family-friendly festival brings the community together to enjoy the beauty of the city’s cherry blossom trees while experiencing Japanese-inspired entertainment, food, arts, and cultural activities. With free admission and activities for all ages, the festival offers a welcoming way to experience Japanese culture in the heart of downtown Nashville.
The celebration features a variety of performances, martial arts demonstrations, children’s activities, artists, exhibitors, food vendors, and interactive attractions such as sumo suit wrestling. The festival is presented by the Japan-America Society of Tennessee in cooperation with the Consulate-General of Japan in Nashville and local partners. Nashville’s growing collection of cherry blossom trees serves as a meaningful symbol of Japan-U.S. friendship, with the community having reached a goal of planting 1,000 cherry blossom trees throughout Nashville parks and neighborhoods.
