The Franklin Rodeo, one of Middle Tennessee’s longest-running annual events and widely recognized as one of the largest rodeos east of the Mississippi, draws thousands of families and rodeo fans each spring for three evenings of professional competition and family entertainment. World champions and nationally ranked competitors take part in bull riding, barrel racing, bronc riding, roping, and other events that showcase speed, skill, and control.
Visitors can explore the Fan Zone, which typically includes community displays, photo opportunities, and activities for children. Vendor booths offer Western apparel, official rodeo merchandise, handmade goods, and souvenirs, while concession stands serve meals, snacks, and traditional rodeo treats.
Sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, the event takes place inside an air-conditioned arena. Rodeo Week also includes the Franklin Rodeo Parade through historic downtown Franklin and Down in the Dirt, a free family event featuring games, pony rides, animal encounters, interactive stations, vendors, and concessions.
The event is organized entirely by volunteers, and proceeds support local charities and nonprofit organizations. Funds raised through the rodeo help provide scholarships, food assistance, healthcare support, disaster relief, and other community services.
